Due to the coronavirus outbreak, all church services are currently suspended.
Lidgett Methodist Church is in the process of developing into a vibrant community hub.
We are working with community groups, charities, council groups and representatives to offer a variety of services, and activities for our community.
Following a community survey in 2013, the church in partnership with these other partners has developed an additional community coffee morning, which meets each Wednesday between 9am and 11am. Our normal coffee morning still runs on Saturday mornings once a month. This new coffee morning is widely used by all generations in the community, from toddlers to grandparents. We supply crafts and activities for all ages, as well as some yummy cakes baked locally. We hope to build on this provision over time, but already have various special events on a regular basis.
In parallel we are working with the Yorkshire Wildlife Dig-in project who are developing a community garden on site.
We are also working with York College Architecture department who are helping us envision how the building may best serve our community, and will be planning changes to the building in due course.
We'd love to welcome you, either on a Wednesday for coffee, at Dig-in or Sunday for our regular services. Watch our website for other opportunities. Most of our rooms are also available to rent, contact our administrator for more details.
If you'd like to be a part of this vibrant project, contact us via the details on our website.
