Although many current activities are suspended because of the Covid 19 pandemic, and the future shape of the Church in the 'new normal' is far from clear, the York Circuit is undergoing an exciting piece of strategic development. As part of this the Circuit Council is seeking to appoint an Outreach Worker to encourage and develop the outreach of Lidgett and Poppleton Methodist Churches.
Both churches are in the process of re-developing their premises to facilitate outreach. Poppleton's redevelopment is under way but that at Lidgett is still in the planning stage. The successful applicant will be involved in these redevelopments and in capitalising on the opportunities they create. Building on existing community links and developing new outreach opportunities is the purpose of the appointment.

The successful applicant will also be required to regularly attend worship at both churches and to lead or to contribute to the leading of worship. There will be some requirements to attend meetings of the churches and the Circuit.

This is a part-time post of 25 working hours. Some flexibility in working hours will be required due to the nature of this post and the opportunities which may arise from the work. The post holder should be prepared to relocate within the Circuit if requirements change over time.

Salary: £16,250 p.a. for a 25 hour week (£12-50 per hour)

There is a genuine occupational reason for requiring the person appointed to be a practicing Christian.
