On Sunday 10th July 2016 we will be gathering 'together' from across the Circuit for a special event. To have enough space for everyone we're hiring the York Barbican for the day and will be having a great time of worship together. OneSound (formerly the MAYC Youth Orchestra and Singers) have been invited to lead us musically and guest speakers will be bringing us their take on what it means to be 'together'- as churches, as a Circuit, and as the Methodist Church in partnership with others.
The first session starts at 11am, and we expect to finish about 2.30pm. Tea and coffee will be available during the day and a light lunch will be provided. There won't be any other services planned in the Circuit's Methodist Churches that day, so all those who are normally involved in leading or facilitating worship can have a day off!
Youth and children's participation will be an important part of the day. As well as time to worship all together, there will be some great children's sessions led by Big Ministries, and youth space led by Methodist Youth President Craig Gaffney. We also hope to provide a creche.
What does it cost? It's free. A gift from the Circuit. We want everyone to be able to come as we think about what it means to be 'together' as a Circuit. So the Circuit will be helping arrange transport to the Barbican- more details will be available soon.
The last two years we've held successful Circuit Celebrations, which have included our Annual General Meeting. We wanted to do something different this year that would build on the success of those events in bringing people 'together'.
From this page you can download a sheet with more details and answers to some of the questions we've been asked about this event. Booking forms will be available through your church soon. For now, save the date and tell your friends!
