Hannah is our Creative Content Assistant, helping us to create engaging digital resources for our online services, website and social media. She comes from a creative design background studying product design at Sheffield Hallam University before working as a professional graphic designer after graduating, with the last 5 years spent within the theatre industry.

I spent my early years in the South and Midlands before my parents settled down in Whitby when I was 7. I call Yorkshire my home as I have lived here most of my life — Whitby — Sheffield — Leeds — until eventually I moved to York in 2017. I have temporarily moved back to Whitby in 2020 but hope to be living in York again before too long.

I grew up in the Methodist church with my immediate family and have been brought up going to Greenbelt Festival every year which I love and have strong connections with Riding Lights Theatre Company in York. I enjoy the Quaker and Taize style of worship as I like having the quiet and space to think and reflect. In a world that's constantly moving and full of noise, it's nice to have the space to just stop. I am open-minded and like to help move things forward.

I'm looking forward to meeting and working alongside lots of new people and developing resources you can use in this new, strange world we find ourselves. I will also continue being creative with my own freelance design business (hcbDesigns) working with small businesses, charities, theatres and start-ups.

In the rest of my life I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, being outdoors and taking photos (especially going for walks on the beach and watching happy dogs). I'm passionate about interior design, theatre (musicals), making stuff and music. I love singing and play the piano and guitar a little. I also try and keep fit with yoga/pilates, running (more of a slow jog) and swimming. There are lots of other things I enjoy and I look forward to getting to know everyone in the coming months.
