Our reflections are based on the material for Bible Month: Philippians.
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4 v13
Paul emphasises that he relies on God, not his own strength, to carry him through what must have been a challenging time- in prison for his beliefs. While at times it’s appropriate to grieve, to be angry, to feel lonely or disappointed, God is still with us, even if we don’t feel like it. While we shouldn’t deny these feelings, remembering who God is and the things God has done can help us trust that we are not alone. Because of God we can be strengthened to face the challenges the world throws at us.
How do you react when you face challenges? Can you encourage yourself or others by remembering or sharing God’s faithfulness?
