Circuit Vision and Constitution
During 2026 consultations took place across the Circuit which have resulted in the establishment of four Mission Areas. We hope these will become a way for churches to work together both to manage the day to day responsibilities of trusteeship, and to support one another in reaching out to our communities.
The four Mission Areas are:
North: Easingwold, Villages Together, Sheriff Hutton, Haxby & Wigginton
East suburbs & city centre: Huntington, Strensall, Heworth, Central, Heslington
South & west suburbs: Acomb, Bishopthorpe, Copmanthorpe, Southlands, West Thorpe
West & rural: Poppleton, Hessay, Lidgett, Holgate, Clifton Moor
Our Vision Statement "Growing in Christ" explains how we hope to encourage everyone to grow in Christ through:
- Witnessing in the World
- Inspiring Ministry
- Nurturing Relationships
- Developing our Gifts
- Offering Hospitality
- Valuing and Welcoming Diversity
You can find out more in the Vision booklet available to download from this page.
It builds on the Methodist statement "Our Calling" to explain how we hope to worship, learn and care, serve, and witness to our faith in our communities.
You can also download our Circuit's Constitution below. This sets out how our Circuit should be run.
