Journeying: Exodus
“So come, I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”
Exodus 3 v10
Moses wasn’t happy with God’s instructions. He knew he was being called to a difficult, dangerous and thankless job as leader of the Israelites. Even once they had finally left Egypt, even after the miracle of the parting of the sea, the people were unhappy, some even saying that they would have been better to remain as slaves in Egypt rather than wandering in the wilderness. The past, even though it had been hard, seemed safer than the unknown future. Do we sometimes think the past was better because it was simpler, even though there were still plenty of challenges back then?
Could you do or say something to encourage your church’s leaders- ordained or lay, paid or volunteers- this week?
