Reflection: One Body Different Roles Same Goals
Picking up from our Circuit Celebration, our reflections look at the theme of One Body through 1 Corinthians chapter 12.
Different roles, same goals
"27 “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues…”
1 Corinthians 12 v27-28
Do you see yourself as someone with a gift? Maybe you can preach or teach others, or care well for those in need. Or you may have a less prominent (but no less important!) gift, such as the ability to help out where you see a need, or to organise the work of the church. All of us have something we can contribute. God gives us gifts not to use for our own advantage but to build up the church and our witness to the world around us.
How do you use what God has given you for the good of the church and your community?
