Reflection: One Body Gifts

Picking up from our Circuit Celebration, our reflections look at the theme of One Body through 1 Corinthians chapter 12.

Gifts in variety

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”

1 Corinthians 12 v4-7

Paul starts by reminding his readers that what they are doing as a church isn’t through their own strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. And that means that they are not just serving themselves, but that what they have is to be shared for ‘the common good’. We aren’t meant to be alone but to be part of a team, a family. We can be more effective when we work together rather than trying to do everything ourselves.
