Journeying: Abraham and Sarah
“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.’”
Genesis 12 v1
How would you feel if you were asked to leave your home, family and country behind to walk into unknown country? Abram/ Abraham and Sarai/ Sarah must have felt everything from fear to excitement as they set off. But their risk-taking obedience resulted in blessings- wealth and respect during their lifetimes, and the knowledge that they would be ancestors to God’s people.
Has God ever called you or your church to do something that seemed uncomfortable or frightening? What blessings might come as a result?
