"They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."
(Revelation 12 vs 11)
We saw earlier in Revelation that the churches were called to put their faith first- to be ready to suffer the consequences of their faith, even if it meant persecution and death. In chapter 12, those who endured and stayed faithful are praised because 'they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.'
That doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy life and the world around us- but the call to worship, to follow and to be witnesses to God should come first.
Is God always the first in your life- the first call on your time, your finances, your decision making? What stops God being first?
