Reflections on change: A new heaven and a new earth

Read: Revelation chapter 21 verses 1 to 5

Think: This passage comes at the end of the book of Revelation. While we think of it as a description of the end times, it was written to encourage the early churches to keep being faithful in the face of persecution and suffering. How can it encourage us today?

It's probably best not to get too caught up in every detail of Revelation! But this vision of a new heaven and new earth, where there is no more death or mourning or crying or pain sounds pretty good. How does this make you feel? What do you look forward to about this picture of our future?

Pray: Pray for our planet, for the challenges of climate change and resource shortage. Ask God what you can do to help others see glimpses of the new heaven and new earth today.
