"A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth."
Justice isn't easy. Isaiah describes God's servant as a light shining in the darkness (sound familiar?) which will not be crushed or put out. He offers hope that despite all the injustice, conflict and suffering in our world, God will eventually bring about justice. God's spirit will be with the servant, helping him know what justice is and speak with God's voice to convince others. We can all use our voices, our money, our votes, to speak up for justice in whatever ways, big or small, that are open to us. God's spirit is with us to help us not be snuffed out and lose hope.
Prayfor God's spirit to guide you in how you can stand up for justice, and give thanks that one day justice will be established on earth.
