Central Methodist Church in York have been able to secure a grant from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport. This money will cover 80% of the cost of major repairs to the roof and masonry of the Grade II* listed chapel. The work will take place over the next few months and it is hoped that it will not cause disruption to church building users.

Support has also been given from the Methodist church at local, Circuit and District levels in recognition of the importance of the work for the local community that takes place at Central.

Angie Creswick, the Circuit Resources manager, will be spending part of her time over the next few months project managing the work at Central and funding is included for an assistant to take on some of her work supporting the Circuit during that time.

You can find out more about the project on Central's website.
